Acuiti today publishes the Q3 2023 Hedge Fund Management Report.
This report is based on a quarterly survey of the Acuiti Hedge Fund Expert Network, a group of derivatives-focused senior hedge fund executives from across the globe.
In this quarter’s report we looked back at H1 2023, prime brokerage changes, crypto topics, new contracts and hot topics suggested by the network.
Key findings of the report included:
- The sell-side is increasing margin finance rates at a higher pace than base rates have risen putting pressure on certain strategies and overall performance
- Almost half of respondents to this quarter’s survey reported raising capital as a critical challenge for their business
- 38% of respondents that weren’t currently trading crypto would either definitely trade crypto (9%) or consider trading it (27%) once a regulatory framework was established in their home jurisdiction
- Over half of respondents were concerned that crowding of hedge fund investment strategies is increasing volatility and market risk
